Amanda Deane - FOUNDER
“My oldest son has autism. After years in therapies, with the medical lead agreeing, we took him out of services, a little at time. At that point they told us he wouldn’t tie his shoes, he would never do this or that. He was moderately autistic and it was recommended he may need an Autism boarding school.
Today, he has taught sailing, played rugby, is in college… and ties his shoes. He has friends who love him. And never went to boarding school. Turns out he scored visually gifted, has wonderful social skills and has been placed in both teaching and leadership positions from his employers. He does so many things we were told he would never do!
For me, I felt the world said everyone could be themselves - accept him. It seemed no one wanted to hear or understand his perspective. He was to be with the Autistic children and special classes, separated and grouped with only those with the same diagnosis. Traditional programs didn’t understand or want him. But he wanted the world.I saw this broke his spirit. No child deserves their spirit broken. No adult. No human.
FS was created to include ALL TYPES OF LEARNERS. To let children know their unique design has value and so does others. TRUE INCLUSION FOR ALL.
Just breath, Loves. Just know the world needs you and your design. Change, don’t change, just know you’re supported. You are wonderfully, brilliantly made. We are here for you.”
